ABOUT US
Ziva Dog Rescue was founded in 2017. At that time, Ziva Dog Rescue was “A Second Chance for Ziva, Inc.” In 2025, we officially registered the name “Ziva Dog Rescue” to help us stand out! We are a 501c(3), non-profit, volunteer-based dog rescue. We rescue dogs regardless of their breed, age or size.
Our approach is practical. We understand finding and committing to a new dog is a big step in any person’s life. We want it to be right.
Since its inception, Ziva Dog Rescue has rescued over 2600 dogs. We do this with the help of our dedicated southern team that are continuously overwhelmed with the homeless animal population. We also help locally as resources will allow as the north continues to also be inundated with dogs in need. Dog rescue is necessary everywhere and if we can be a part of their story, we will.
Ziva Dog Rescue is licensed as a charitable organization in the following states: New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
BECOME A FOSTER HERO
Ziva Dog Rescue is based on foster homes only. Without the help of those who offer their homes temporarily, this rescue and many others would not exist. A foster home provides a dog individual attention, relaxation and a chance to decompress and be themselves so we can help them land in the right place. If you are interested in becoming a foster or interested in doing short term fostering stints, your help is invaluable.
EVENTS
Whether you are ready to adopt a dog or not, come meet us at our meet and greet events. You can see some of our adoptable dogs and learn more about Ziva Dog Rescue in general. We also host virtual events and fundraisers!
